It's been almost 7 years since I last witnessed Lauryn Hill live. Back then she was quite cool, although the venue (Havnescenen) was quite a bad choice. This time, where she played in Falconer Salen last night, it was quite miserable. The concert started more than 2 hours late and sound quality was bad. The reviews linked below explains the details.
Friday evening the American artist D'Angelo visited Copenhagen for a completely sold-out concert in Store Vega on Vesterbro. Photos has been added but please read the reviews for more information.
Besides newer photos of Thomas Dybdahl in Store Vega and Fleet Foxes in Falconer Salen was added as well.
Photos from yesterday's amazing concert with Justin Vernon and the rest of the folks in Bon Iver in Falconer Salen has now been added. If you missed the show, make sure you get the albums, they are simply excellent!
A huge bunch of new photos were added - such as Kelis, Kevin Kostner, Keri Hilson, I got you on tape, Pixie Lott, Kashmir, Tori Amos, Electric Lady Lab, Camille Jones, Nik & Jay, Medina, Karen (and the rest of the performances from MTV EMA Pre-Party in Øksnehallen) and so forth.
American country singer Dolly Parton visited Forum in Copenhagen Thursday evening. Quite varied reviews of the concert, and a huge distance to the stage, unfortunately the lady don't want photographers nearby.
Over the past few weeks, almost 100 new photos has been added from Roskilde Festival 2011, from Prince's NPG festival at 10-øren and from various concerts. Latest the American band The Pains of Being Pure at Heart in Amager Bio. Enjoy!
:: Saybia and The Rumour Said Fire i Tivoli photos added
Søren Huss and the rest of Saybia returned to Plænen i Tivoli for Fredagsrock last Friday. Along with them was The Rumour Said Fire who's lately got quite a bit of airplay in my world. Both fine concerts, photos now online.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting Janet Jackson for the first time. Not exactly an amazing concert in my opinion, although others claimed it was a great walk down memory lane. Never the less - fun to shoot. Read the reviews for more comments.
Thursday evening British singer James Blunt returned to Copenhagen for a concert on the castle of Rosenborg. A beautiful venue if it hadn't been for the huge amounts of rain that was coming in Copenhagen that night. Quite a pity for the couple of thousands that has purchased a ticket..
In late 2009 I had the pleasure of doing a photo session with an upcoming artist, Nanna Øland Fabricius a.k.a. Oh Land for a Danish mag. Since then things has gone really quick for Oh Land, right now conquering the American market with her catchy songs. Yesterday she returned to Copenhagen and played a great, completely sold-out concert in Store Vega.
It was great to finally experience the band Sorten Muld live. The trio, with singer Ulla Bendixen in front, reunited temporarily and played a series of concerts which led them to Amager Bio Friday evening. Without doubt one of the best concerts I've seen for a very, very long time. Impressed!
:: Veronica Maggio and Turboweekend, Vega photos added
A couple of nights ago Veronica Maggio and Turboweekend played in Copenhagen - the Swedish discotjej in Lille Vega and the fine synth rockers in Turboweekend in Store Vega. Both were sold-out and the packed venues warm as hell. Seemed to be great shows both of them although the reviews of Veronica wasn't too positive.
:: Fallulah, Lucy Love and Vinnie Who, Tivoli photos added
Last night Tivoli had quite a cool lineup on Plænen as their weekly Fredagsrock. Lucy Love, Vinnie Who and Fallulah all did a good job and delivered a great concert in the somewhat full amusement park. First time I've witnessed Vinnie Who live - very cool act they showed up with!
Last night the British, electronic, new wave band The Human League returned to Store Vega. Philip Oakey and his two "backing singers" showed up in a rather dark - and not too crowded - Store Vega on Vesterbro. Seemed to please the crowd.
The Ark has unfortunately decided to split up and yesterday played their last Scandinavian concert. What a pity :(
Never the less - the band visited Amager Bio last night and played a very fine concert. Crappy lights photography wise, but a pleasure to see a last concert with a band which has always delivered an excellent, very entertaining show.
:: Bunch of new photos added
Over the last couple of weeks, various concerts have been covered, but due to lack of time, they didn't make it to this site. Anyway, now you are able to find newer shots of Adele, James Blake, Atoi, Take That, Bruno Mars, Alex Hepburn, Hurts, Panamah and Agnes Opel. Among others. Enjoy.
Joan Wasser - when performing best known as Joan as Police Woman - returned to Denmark last night for a concert in a sold-out Amager Bio. A much more intense concert than last time I had the pleasure of her company at Roskilde Festival 2008.
Anna Katrin Egilstrød and the rest of the Danish folktronica band Valravn visited a crowded Amager Bio last Friday. It's the second time I've had the pleasure of the band - and they are absolutely brilliant at what they do. A great singer and an impressive band playing all kind of odd instruments. Go witness it!
:: Plan B and The Script in Store Vega photos added
Finally there was some time left over to update this site. Apologies to the returning users for the lack of update, but now you should at least be able to find new shots of Plan B and The Script. Both performing on Store Vega. More shots from the winter of 2010/2011 will be added soon. Promise :)
Last Saturday the very talented singer and guitarist Julie Maria played at the venue Bremen on Vesterbro. Along with her she had her very fine band as well as former Saybia singer Søren Huss and DR Pigekoret. A great concert with a very varied setlist. If you haven't witnessed one of Julie Maria's concerts yet, make sure you do so.
Swedish pop queen Robyn and her cool band played in Falconer Salen Friday evening. A very nice performance with lots of hits, cool lights and an entertaining Robyn, although it was quite a pity the concert got moved from Store Vega to Falconer.
I've had the pleasure of attending quite a few concerts with the Israeli guitarist and singer Yoav, and every time he certainly impresses me with his "one-man orchestra". Yesterday he played in Koncerthuset in DR Byen and had actually brought a long 4 other musicians who played along in some songs.
Anders Trentemøller - along with guests such as Henrik Vibskov, Mikael Simpson, Marie Fisker, Solveig Sandnes and Josephine Philip - started his world tour in Store Vega Thursday evening. Not the easiest light for photography, but a very fine concert.
Last night I had the pleasure of experiencing a concert with the American band LCD Soundsystem for the second time this summer. James Murphy and the rest of the crew delivered a very fine show - please read the linked reviews below.
Last weekend the annual Danmarks Smukkeste Festival took place in Skanderborg. A large amount of concerts and main acts such as Suede, Kent, Roxette, Kashmir and Amy Macdonald. A very fine festival that led to many, many new photos, which are slowly being added.
Steve Lukather, Joseph Williams, Simon Philips and the rest of the talented musicians in Toto visited KB Hallen a couple of nights ago. Unfortunately photographers were placed at the very back of the venue, leading to quire boring photos.
Finally there was time to add a bunch of shots from Roskilde Festival 2010. This year's festival was yet another great experience, the weather backing it completely. Music wise my highlights featured Gorillaz, Kings of Convenience, Prince, Robyn, Muse and LCD Soundsystem. Loads of photos has been added, please use the links to the right.
As so many times before (at least 15 times with a camera), it was a great pleasure to experience yet another fine Kashmir concert. Last night the Danish band played on Plænen in Tivoli as a part of the weekly Fredagsrock. A very nice setlist with new, old, older and unreleased songs - and a fabulous summer evening. Looking forward to Kashmir's Roskilde Festival concert next week.
